Smashwords Interview

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I am not sure it was the very first one, but I remember struggling with creative writing as a young child. I was an avid reader but I found creative writing difficult. I recall one story that was successful. Fortunately, the teacher hadn't read 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea as my story had borrowed heavily from the book. My apologies Mr. Verne!
What is your writing process?
Lots of research and personal experience followed by a drawn-out development of an outline. After that it was a fairly quick draft (I subscribe the the "Write for the Wastebasket" approach). Then add revision after revision after revision followed by industry peer review.
