Alan S. Acker
Alan Acker was born and raised in Chicago and attended the University of Illinois where he majored in accounting and in his senior year captained Illinois’ fencing team. Alan proceeded to obtain his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1977 and he has been a practicing lawyer since then with a short stint in 2010 as judge of the Franklin County, Ohio Probate Court. Alan also has been an adjunct professor of law for many years. Although Alan, by education, training and profession, focuses his skills in the areas of estate planning, income taxation of trusts and estates, and probate, he has always been a student of faith, theology, and philosophy.
While Alan has published numerous articles (his first appearing in the Journal of Taxation in 1978) and several books that have appeared in myriad tax and legal publications, this is his first foray into publishing to a wider audience on the fascinating topic of faith and God.
Alan currently lives in Columbus, Ohio with his wife Lillian of 40 years. They have four children and two grandchildren.
