Biography

patrish griffin King lives in San Diego with her husband who is an Impressionist artist, is a thrilled Mom of 5 grown and treasured children, and Mumsy to 8 delightful (‘…mine are special’) grandchildren. At a very early age, Patrish spent many childhood hours composing little stories and drawings; an interest that has re-surfaced. Her A-game imagination has created several Series featuring delightful characters that Patrish continually develops in ongoing and memorable storybooks. She admits to being partial to little Fiona Lyn O’Brien. Using childhood themes she thoughtfully recalls and relates, Patrish strives to provide innovatively resolved stories that capture children’s attention through artistically illustrated books. She is set upon enriching and elevating children’s vocabularies and also conveying how Mothers take such delight in their children as well as loving them.
Her chosen illustrations for the Fiona Series range from simple engaging sketches combined with thoughtful portrait drawings. Inheriting an intrinsic asymmetrical ‘Irishness’ and an innate Gaelic prism, has given her a unique way to discover the world by listening and seeing through heightened senses, not unlike animals and children. As of now, she has not yet outgrown it.
