Smashwords Interview

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I've lived in small communities most of my life except for a stint in two major cities in New Brunswick, Canada. My home has always been close to the Atlantic Ocean. The waters of the bays and inlets change their moods daily, offering different perspectives to the same shoreline. I find much inspiration in the land at ocean's edge.
When did you first start writing?
After reading a short biography of Bryce Courtenay, I discovered that he began writing when he was 55 years old. I always wanted to write stories but for whatever reason, I couldn't get started, even after creative writing courses. When I realized it is never too late which was obvious from Mr. Courtenay who has written over 20 bestsellers, I began writing 5 years ago at the age of 56.
