What motivated you to become an indie author?
I have written many short stories while most of them sit never to be read by the world a select few were given to friends to read. With their motivation of saying how much they loved the stories it promoted me to write and publish something. When I started, I had no idea what publishing a book entailed. So I began reading about it when I was almost finished writing my manuscript. Formatting a manuscript for publication took a lot out of me but I learned a lot and enjoyed the journey. Rewrite, edit, rewrite, edit, rewrite, edit for few more times until I thought it was done. It was constantly changing but the experience was exhilarating seeing my name on the cover of a finished book and I made it to happen. It was all my effort. I created a beautiful book and I did it from start to finish.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I work on something for weeks, months. I rewrite it, break it into pieces, blow up each one, shrink them. Over and over and around back through and as I'm cutting and pasting wondering if I will ever get the scene right or portray my characters as they were true living people and make my readers believe in them.
I discover that sharing a story is the best way to feel joyful of this gift I have, and to share it with others, the only way I can - I WRITE.
