Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I remember writing a story in grade four about a diamond heist in Paris that I was terribly proud of. I found it again many years later, and was... not quite as impressed. What I remember most is one of the characters I took pains to introduce was never seen again after the first page.
What is your writing process?
Usually I think about a small event and try to extrapolate what circumstances may have lead to it, and where might it go. Often one tiny thing in a story is based on something I actually experienced, but the rest of the story is entirely different.
