Joshua: A Brooklyn Tale
by Andrew Kane
Culminating with the 1991 Crown Heights riots, this story traces the tensions between two communities close in proximity, but worlds apart. Joshua, a kid from Bed-Stuy, fights to escape his past; Rachel, a Hassidic rabbi’s daughter, rebels against her faith; Paul, the son of a wealthy family, yearns to find his path. Through them we see a vision of hope, tempered by the realities of human frailty.
