Angelica currently works doing quality assurance and project management. She worked as a clinical research nurse coordinator at a large academic medical center for nearly seven years. She is a Society of Clinical Research Associates Certified Clinical Research Professional and is Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certified via the Management and Strategy Institute.
Angelica earned a Master of Science in Nursing in Clinical Trials Research from Drexel University and was the recipient of the program’s Outstanding Graduate Student Award. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and graduated summa cum laude. Additionally, she earned an Associate in Applied Science in Electronics Engineering Technology degree from Cleveland Institute of Electronics.
The author discusses the results of a search of the nursing literature for articles related to patient-reported outcomes in the context of clinical research regulations, good clinical practices, and clinical research nursing standards of practice. The author recognizes a lack of literature directly addressing the clinical research nurse’s role in the advancement of patient-reported outcomes.
