Annaliese Matheron was born in Hampshire in 1980, but spent her childhood years through to college in Essex, where her maternal family lived.
Annaliese took a long time to figure out what she was intended to do with her life despite her year 5 teacher Miss Jones pronouncing her literary streak.
At first she thought she would be an ice skater, followed swiftly by a bank manager then an actress. For a while she harboured a passion to be an archaeologist, then an astrophysicist. This lasted until college when she wanted to be a theatre director before deciding upon becoming an English teacher.
It was during her English degree that she rediscovered writing. Having a young family and never growing up too much, made it only natural that she write for children and young adults.
Writing makes perfect sense to her now. Not only does it embrace her life long need for books, but it provides her with a means to explore all the things she has ever wanted to be and more between the safety and comfort of two pages. But if only she had heeded Miss Jones' words of advice it would have been a swifter ride.
Ninja Nan and Sidekick Grandad is Annaliese's first book for children and was in part inspired by her own wonderful Grandparents, who may or may not be ninjas! And their dog Pixie who was not as evil as the Pixie in the book.
The Ninja Nan adventure continues with, three more exciting books; Ninja Nan Strikes Again, Ninja Nan and her Merry Men and NInja Nan and the Trio of Trouble.
Annaliese's new book Wolflore is out now and is sure to be a big hit!
