Smashwords Interview

What are you working on next?
I am working on "Arabia: Age of innocence," which is about my seven years in Saudi Arabia from 1970 to 1977. While living within the Arab society as an American wife married to a Saud husband - I witnessed history in the making. While I cooked, cleaned and tended our two small sons, the Moslem culture wrestled with the influences of the expanding modern world. These innocent souls were ruled by hospitality rites handed down through time. Honor was not a word but a lifestyle. Their lives were uncluttered by TV or phones. and their world revolved around their family and village. Slowly, I watched their ancient culture begin to crack.
I was also privileged to experience the effects the discovery of oil had on the Kingdom. I lived within this cloaked society before, during and after black gold began filtering through the Arabian lifestyle. Change on all levels began corroding the patina of the Arabian peninsula, and I was there to experience and record the "journey."
Who are your favorite authors?
I have Sooo many favorite authors because I love to read a wide variety of books. To mention a few...William Young (The Shack), Elizabeth Gilbert (Eat, Pray, Love), James Redfield (The Celestine Prophecy), Sara Young (Jesus Calling) Maeve Binchy, Deepak Chopra, James A. Michener, Sara Roberts and many, many more.
