Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes. I worked on it day and night for months during my pregnancy with my daughter. I typed it on a an old Brother's typewriter. This was before home pcs and I edited it after every chapter.
My mother wanted me to send it in to a publishing house, but I loved it too much to worry that someone else would reject it. It was my first born (then came my daughter).
I still have all the original markups and edits that my grandmother made, who was an avid reader. I love seeing her handwriting. It's filled with love and support. Unfortunately, she has since died and never saw any of my work published.
What is your writing process?
I first develop the characters and storyline and then research, research, research. Then I write everything down on paper (I know old school) but there's something rewarding about seeing it on paper. Then I type it, and edit in the process, sometimes rewriting entire chapters during this process
