Andrew Szymanski

Having lived in London all my life, I have met and interacted with many wonderful characters, seen lots of normal, strange, and weird things, and have worked (sadly some might say) in IT for over 25 years. And from all this experience of life (so far), I have found a wealth of inspiration for the vast majority of the poetry and stories I write. I currently live in Surrey with my wife Nela, my daughter Isadora, and I am forever rescuing them from spiders, flying insects, and other creepies that always suddenly appear. I also have a black cat called Rory who does his best to help me catch things.

Smashwords Interview

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The first ever short story I wrote was about a fish and chip shop in Hong Kong. The assignment was set by my English teacher in secondary school and she asked the class to use our imagination. So I did. It was a work of pure fiction and fantasy as a) I've never been to Hong Kong 2) I knew nothing about fish and chip shops and d) I wanted it to be different.
What is your writing process?
I am a deep thinker and like to ponder over things I have read, seen, or experienced and my writing comes from what makes me laugh, cry, whoop for joy, or just think.
