When I was a child, I was bullied and laughed at. By the time I was ten years old, I couldn't take it anymore so I attempted suicide. Then a year later, writing found me. It gave me something I never had before--an escape. And I was hooked. My first story was never completed but I didn't care because I enjoyed it so much. A year later, I did have a story that was completed and I thought it was a masterpiece. Of course, the magazine company I submitted it to thought it wasn't a good fit for them but they did tell me it was good. It encouraged me enough to keep going so I took that story and worked on it, making it longer. I began reading every book I could get my hands on to improve my writing.

Through bumps and curves, I kept writing. I refused to give up. It was the only thing I hadn't quit. Finally, 20 years later I was publishing my first book--original Cursed Blood. By then, I was married and had three children. I'd been through a lot but writing always was there for me. I want to be able to give that to my readers. Connecting with them is very important to me.
