Smashwords Interview

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Hastings, New Zealand and that definitely influenced my latest book After The Fall as I had my home town in the back of my head as I wrote the story about a young woman from a smaller town who goes to live in the big smoke just as I did. It can be overwhelming to adjust to big city living and then weird to go back.
When did you first start writing?
I wanted to be a journalist when I grew up so it was well over twenty years ago. Then Ieft school and developed an interest in computers, going into IT when I could and now I work in telecommunications. Writing became an interest again with my children starting to grow up and me wanting to have a hobby and then it went from there. I've always had the stories in my head, now they're written down.
