Music is my first language. I'm a published author, spoken word poet, photographer and violinist hippie chick who loves fast cars, quick wit, fine dining and real jazz.
At the age of 5, I began training as a Suzuki violinist. I also began "writing" stories and poems by using shapes and symbols. By age 8, I was writing the Kindergarten naptime stories for our parish, and penned my first book for them by age 9. I've always known that writing isn't what I do, it's who I am.
My first book, entitled Christians Under Construction is an eclectic collection of inspirational poems detailing the journey of a "baby Christian". 'A Woman of Purpose', my second book, is a very personal collection of poetic expressions, short stories and spiritual solutions for modern women of faith. This book was inspired by the doing. It is hard work to unlearn the toxic habits and behaviors we fall back on. 'A Woman of Purpose' discusses how faith can change how we view ourselves, interact with one another, and respond to the world. In A Woman of Purpose, I celebrate and encourage the beauty of truth and good will. It's not easy, but by doing the work, I've learned that I can forgive myself, make right choices, have healthy relationships and be victorious in life despite worldly obstacles, hideous biases, and my own flawed humanity.
As a creative writer, I often have experiences or make an observation that I need process, and that's when I begin to write. I write with the belief that there is a spiritual solution for every earthly challenge. From this practice I hope to get the lesson, and to use my free will for good. I write every day and I'm quite sure that I'll have a project in progress, waiting on the nightstand at the end of my life.
