Atama-ii Books

Atama-ii Books is a multiple award-nominated publisher of premium quality graded readers. Our books are intended for learners of English as a second language, or for reluctant readers who have matured beyond young children's books but who are not yet ready for more challenging reading material.

Our multiple-path graded reader series was designed by a team of teacher-authors to be both interesting and engaging, while maintaining a simple enough language level. The stories are set at a high-beginner level (300 headwords, or CEFR A2+), and targeted at ages 11 and above. We have trialed the stories successfully with children as young as seven, and with young adult university students learning English as a second language.

Each Atama-ii series title is 2,500 words in total, includes 24 high quality illustrations, and has multiple story paths leading to eight different endings. The stories are meant to be re-read several times. They are ideal for individual reading or for classroom-based activities such as group discussions.
