Smashwords Interview

What do you read for pleasure?
I have an awesome admiration for memoirs. I love to read about real life events and real people who have endured and overcome. It is how I best connect with other people no matter where they are. I find strength in stories in which the person it is written about has overcome, it provides hope and inspiration, two things I believe we as human beings can never get enough of.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Yes. After "Where The Wild Things Are", I grew into "Are You There God? It's me Margaret", by Judy Blume. I still remember the shock value of the words written in that book because for the times it was a bit risky. Unfortunately, I could understand it and the words written allowed me an ability to relate to it, as if Judy Blume and I shared secrets together. I suppose in a sense it allowed me a way of releasing the secrets that I was forced to keep at such a young age. Thank You Judy!
