Babette Wieland, MSN, RN

Biography

Babette Wieland is the third of five children born to working class parents on Long Island. As a registered nurse with a masters degree from Columbia University, she has over 30 years of medical and mental health nursing experience.

Dad was a mechanical engineer and mom was a nurse. Her older sister became a nurse, Babette became a nurse, her younger sister became a nurse, and one of her brothers even married a nurse. Her entire family embraced the healing power of humor as both a lifestyle and communication tool. Despite living in different cities they continue to laugh at and with each other on a regular basis.

In addition to using humor in her nursing practice, she has a talent for rewriting song lyrics for special occasions, and has been ruining classic tunes since 1987. When not working, Babette can be found gardening, making jewelry or McGyvering solutions to everyday challenges with mixed success.
