Solène Anglaret is a world travelled storyteller. Having dreamt about it since childhood, she left home to explore the globe when she was only 18 years old. Just over 10 years later, she has lived in six countries and travelled to nearly 50. This life beyond borders and everything that comes with it, is the inspiration behind her book Where to Next? as well as her blog full of tips and stories.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest book is a memoir called Where to Next? It is based on my experiences travelling and living abroad. It is a raw and honest story which invites the reader to reflect on where or what home means to them. I wrote it after relocating from China to Australia...
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a small town in Normandy called Louviers. The nature that surrounds my parents' home was where I found inspiration growing up and is definitely where I find inspiration today. It is walking along the beach, hiking a mountain or getting lost in a forest that most of my writing ideas come to me.
Where to Next? is a memoir that will take you on a journey that starts in France and goes through Norway, the United States, the United Kingdom, China and finally Australia. It is filled with challenging experiences, fundamental lessons and unforgettable encounters. Written in short and witty snippets, it will captivate you and leave you to wonder where or what ‘home’ actually means to you.
