Smashwords Interview

What's the story behind your latest book?
The Parcel is something that's been on my heart for a while. I so often feel inspired to write short, spiritual scribblings and it was just a way to compile some of those into one place. Writing is one of the main ways I connect with God, and so the link between the written word and my spiritual life is so deep and empowering for me. It's a way of taking what's dwelling inside into the outside world.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
The publishing industry is changing and so difficult to crack, especially with work as specialised and experimental as mine. Self publishing just gives me the freedom to publish at any point, and share my heart with those who want to partake in it. For me it's not about sales (my book is free!) and it's not about 'getting my name out there'. It's about worship and creativity and trying something new, and so it was an easy choice!
