BJ Gaskill

I'm just a lover of books...all kinds really, though I must admit I do have a soft spot for Highlanders (got to love a man in a kilt).
I live in a world of two kids and a hubby that works hard, but plays even harder. We have mountians on one side and the plains on the other. It snows it the winter and it gets hot in the summer....Duh...I know right?
I dream one day to visit Scotland and Ireland, each night though I'm always there, so who knows maybe it would be best if I didn't...LOL

Talk about bringing my inner nerd out. I loved this story! I was one of those girls that loved comics and actually still it was so AWESOME that this story revolved around a comic book store owner,Abby. I connected with her right off the get go. She was so fun, smart, and strong willed. I honestly don't know if I could handle things the way she had. I mean really to find a hunk a sleep on the floor??? Hmmm... As for Jasper...what's not to like...I mean if you're closed minded I guess there's a bunch...but I'm not soooo...Jasper is this hot writer that has some flaws but he is caring, thoughtful, emotional, and is into Abby. The story itself is so much fun....I mean the resturant scene alone is worth reading over again...too funny!!!! Oh and the robber's house OMG!! I laughed so hard!!I must say though there were times I would have loved to have punched Paul out and told Abby's sister where she could put some things, but over all this story was a BLAST!!!!

I'll be honest, this book didn't get me right off the back. However as the story progressed it was hard to put down. I really started to enjoy the whole concept of a town out of the norm. The character Genevieve was well written and for a teen, that is a feat all it's own. It was refreshing that Ms. Waldrop was able to blend a tale of growing up and not accepting things just because, but on the fact that they were. It in itself was well written with fun supporting characters and loads action. A great read for those teens looking for something a bit new and fun.

I think the title alone says everything!!!! It's not that the stories within are over the board make you pee your pants scary. It's what's not said during the story that scares you senseless! I was drawn in from the first story...It implies that something more would happen....just from Jake telling Lucie to look at what he brought. At the end...It was the rope! Or the next story where it's about a Zombie....the witch never said what she wanted in return....but Wholly Heck she sure did get what she desired. Hearts are so tasty! Oh and one of my favorites...Hansel and Gretel retold! Estelle was only trying to help the poor children who were out in the cold, hungry. Guess that's one story to always make sure you know who you let in your house...LOL Rayne Hall does an AMAZING job story telling. It's like you're around the camp fire seeing who can make the best scary story so no one sleeps..I would totally pick her as the winner!
