After finishing this collection of tales, I am impressed with the writing style and creativity of the author. Each story had a distinct plot line with multi-tiered characters. This feat is often difficult to achieve when penning short stories. Not only did the writings inspire fear, but they also tackled tough social issues with ease, instilling the belief that the truly scary stories are often ones that involve the monsters in our own back yard and the deepest recesses of society. Christopher Barili has true talent as a writer and I would be greatly interested in further work he publishes.
