Awakening is a fantastic reimagining of the Star Wars prequels! I'm not a big reader and I rarely finish a book I start, but Awakening kept me intrigued from beginning to end. Fascinating plot, great dialogue and lovable characters. Personally, I love the Prequel trilogy films and I wasn't disappointed at all with George Lucas' work. With that said, I also love David Gremillion's take on the Prequels. Many of his ideas work much better than what is in the films, such as Anakin being older and Alderaan having a much larger role in the story. The inclusion of the Han Solo-like bodyguard Khain brings an original trilogy-esque feel to the chemistry between the characters. But David also pays homage to the Prequels by including characters like Qui-Gon and Darth Maul. Some people refer to Awakening as "fan fiction" but I feel that's an insult to the passion that was obviously poured into this NOVEL by the author. Awakening is perfect example of excellence in fan created material. I would give it more than five stars if I could!
  • Star Wars: Split Horizons on Dec. 23, 2014

First off, I have to say that I read Split Horizons in less than 24 hours. I literally couldn't put it down. Yeah, it's that good. David Gremillion takes his characters to brand new, unexpected places in the second part of this trilogy. The story gains more complexity as the Clone Wars rage on, the villains continue to weave their web of evil and relationships are formed between our heroes that will soon be tested. We visit unseen planets with rarely explored characters. And the most intriguing aspect of all is watching our hero, Anakin, begin to show signs of his dark future. No matter if you liked the Star Wars Prequel films or not, you will surely enjoy this further retelling of the story. I highly recommend this fantastic novel!
  • Star Wars: Hunted on Dec. 23, 2014

Outstanding! David Gremillion returns to the Star Wars Universe for a third and final(?) time with the epic conclusion to his re-imagination of the Prequel Trilogy! Of course, to understand what's going on in this story, you will have to have read David's first two novels "Awakening" and "Split Horizons". "Hunted" continues that story, and in doing so, presents a lead in to the Original Trilogy that is very different than it's counterpart, "Revenge Of The Sith". Yes, the Republic becomes an Empire, but not how you would expect. The Skywalker twins are born, but with a twist. And of course, Anakin Skywalker is seduced by the Dark side and becomes Darth Vader... but in a completely unique way. "Hunted" presents a fresh new take on an infamous story. You will be thrilled. You will be shocked. You may even shed tears. This novel, along with it's predecessors, is a must read for any Star Wars fan!
