• The Chaos Chronicles (Books 1-3) on June 27, 2015
  
  Neptune Crossing (Book 1) John Bandicut is having a rough life. He lost his family in a tragic accident. He suffered a botched medical procedure that left him prone to psychotic episodes. If that isn’t enough, an alien on a suicide mission inhabited his brain and conscripted him into service. When the voice in his head tells him what he must do, he has a choice: play it safe and risk losing everything or take a leap of faith that will almost certainly cost him his life. Neptune Crossing has moments of high tension and intense action metered by the hum-drum existence in an outer solar system mining operation. I enjoyed this story overall. The ending left me a bit hollow but in all fairness, this is book one in a six book series. The issue I had with the ending may well be resolved deeper into The Chaos Chronicles. Strange Attractors (Book 2) John Bandicut is on a grand adventure. After being pressed into service to save the Earth by the mysterious Translator in Neptune Crossing, he’s been hurdled out of the galaxy to an immense ship-world where he faces a threat as great as a killer asteroid but with an intelligence behind it. Along with the alien consciousness that lives in his head, Bandicut and his company of new friends risk it all to save the strange world where they’ve been stranded. Carver has a knack for writing extended action scenes that make me feel like I’m on a runaway roller coaster ride. This book was no exception in that area. I thoroughly enjoyed Strange Attractors and I’m already reading book three, The Infinite Sea. On a side note, I see a possible solution to the issue I had with the ending of Neptune Crossing. As I read the final pages of Strange Attractors, I had to pump my fist in the air and shout, “Yes!” The Infinite Sea (Book 3) John Bandicut is in over his head this time, deep under an alien sea. In book three of the Chaos Chronicles, he and his company of friends have been tasked with settling a dispute between people of the sea, and land dwellers while trying to figure out what mysterious force living at the bottom of the abyss is trying to kill them all. The under-sea habitat and cramped submarines in this story kept me feeling the need to seek wide open spaces and fresh air. Carver tossed in a few snippets from the life of a character from book one and I believe that the story is only going to get more interesting from here on out. I’m looking forward to starting book four.

  Bandicut and company have fallen out of the frying pan and into the fire in Sunborn, Book 4 of The Chaos Chronicles. This go round they actually have a choice: accept the mission and possibly die or don't accept the mission and probably die. As if saving worlds wasn't a big enough challenge for them, this time they've been tasked with saving a stellar nursery, a job that will push them to the breaking point and possibly beyond. Each book in this series has been better than the last and Sunborn is no exception. I hope Mr. Carver finishes writing Book 5 soon.

  Seas of Ernathe takes place at a time when the art of Star Rigging has been lost to humanity and they're left to navigating Flux Space with mechanized probability probes. (Sailing a ship through Flux Space is akin to shooting white water rapids. Imagine kayaking and leaving the navigation to an auto-pilot, to get an idea what the loss of Star Rigging means.) A compound derived from plankton that thrives only on the planet Ernathe may be the key to humans regaining the ability to pilot Rigger Ships. But the indigenous population (the Nale'nid) has begun interfering with the human colonists harvesting operation, and no method of communicating with them has been successful. Seth Perland must find a way to establish a dialogue before the two sides enter into an all-out war. While Seth is on a mission to contact the indigenous people, a Nale'nid woman, Lo’ela, and her brothers abduct Seth giving him the opportunity he needs. But immersing himself in their way of life could cost him his humanity. This first book of the Star Rigger Universe is a shining jewel marking the way into an intriguing, thought provoking series. I highly recommend this anyone who loves great science fiction.

  Nathan and Reed have a secret they're terrified to reveal, but when they become suspicious the sexy, Jeanie has discovered the truth, they hatch a plot to destroy her evidence. But even the best laid plans can go awry when two hot, lonely guys meet a woman who needs them bad enough she's willing to keep even the strangest of secrets. This is a weird shifter story I avoided reading for a long time because of the strange title. But I'm glad I finally read it. Once again, Elodie Parkes has created an entertaining, sentimental love story that's nearly too sexy to read.

After his first meeting with Rosanna, Seth doesn't quite understand why he can't get her off his mind. But when he sees her with another man, his feelings for her become clear and he regrets letting let her slip away. Turn down the lights and pull the covers over your head. Too darn sexy to read any other way.

  Adventure, danger, romance, Encrypted has it all in a tightly woven tale. The opening of this story did not draw me in. I initially stopped reading after the prologue, with no intention to continue. A few weeks later I ran across Encrypted on my Kindle. I couldn't remember what I didn't like about it and decided to read the first chapter. I couldn't put it down after that. Nice job Lindsay Buroker! I have to wonder if the author was inspired by Edgar Rice Burroughs and Robert E. Howard? Seems their influences are sprinkled throughout the story. If you enjoy well written romantic fantasy adventure, give this one a try.

  I've read the full 8 book series and highly recommend it. The characters develop a good rapport on their fun and bumpy ride through their triple star solar system. Thoroughly entertaining.
