Bernie Bourdeau

Bernie Bourdeau was born and raised in Cohoes, NY a small city a few miles north of Albany, New York’s capital. He spent the first half of his career working in government, most of it as a senior economic advisor to the State Senate, where he specialized in financial services issues. He developed an interest in property & casualty insurance while working for the senate. He spent the second half of his career as president of the New York Insurance Association, a trade group of property & casualty insurance companies. For the last 8 years he also managed the NY Alliance Against Insurance Fraud where he learned the intricacies of major league insurance fraud and the crime rings that run the enterprises.
Throughout his career he read and admired the writings of some great authors: Hemingway, Faulkner, Twain, Updike, Vonnegut and more recently Thomas Perry, Dennis Lehane, Harlan Coben, William Kennedy, Richard Russo and many more. Their writings spurred a longing to create stories people would want to read. After leaving the world of politics, he began to chase the dream. CAUSED & EFFECT is the result of that pursuit. He is currently working on the sequel.
A THIN GRAY LINE will reunite Linda Baldwin with Bert, Vance, Eddie, Bill, Kathleen and a cast of new characters to explore the illusion we call truth. Linda is drawn into the middle of a high stakes political battle where the campaign tricks are both dirty and deadly and where the future of the country turns on the question of which version of two competing lies shall carry an election.
