Smashwords Interview

How do you approach cover design?
Currently, I'm using live models and tinkering with the usual buttons. I'd like to use illustrations in a somewhat retro noir or '60s realism style given the narrative in the stories but that's a "one day" thing.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
I have thousands of books ... yes. Books that inform the way I like to write include such works as written by Robert Heinlein, Tolkien, Phil Foglio, Robert Aspirin, and such. Attention to detail, doing the research, taking time to create seemingly real personalities within fantastic settings - authors that do that intrigue me.

Rocker-in-self-exile Blar Umlaut spots an enchanting goth princess in a snowstorm. The chain of events that follow lead to a revival of his career, a new band, romance, adventure, and dark hilarity with the trio of women he befriends. This is the first volume of a series following the life, adventures, romances, and antics of the eccentric and quirky members of a rock band.
