My biggest passion in life at the moment is being a Copywriter. If you don’t know what a copywriter is – well it’s someone who writes words to sell or promote places, people or things. Most copywriters have a specific niche that they excel in – I’m still looking for my perfect fit – but I love marketing of any type so perhaps it will simply be small business. I love researching a product and making people fall in love with it enough to want to buy it. I think this is a good fit for me because I love buying things myself!
I live in Albany, Oregon which I absolutely love, love, love. It’s a small town of about 45,000 – big enough to have a Costco and a Wal-Mart but small enough to get from one side to the other in a matter of minutes. I am only two blocks away from a beautiful little park with a small river and lots of ducks! I like ducks. Sometimes I look out my window in the morning and a duck or two is sitting on my lawn.
I have a very lovable dog name Pudge (who, yes indeed is a bit on the pudgy side) and a cat named Buddy – who is a very friendly, and a buddy kind of cat. Right now it is night-time and he just went out the little pet door to check out the night life. Both Pudge and Buddy love being able to go in and out when the mood strikes. The three of us are pretty independent type of folks. When we want to do something – we want to do it. Now is better than later.

In my former life (I have a number of former lives) I was a nun. I lived in a monastery for 28 years. It was a good life and I loved it – until I didn’t. Not sure all the reasons – but a few years ago I realized it wasn’t where I wanted to be forever after. Before that I was in the Navy for 4 years and before that I lived at home in Newport, Washington with 7 brothers and 3 sisters. Family is a big part of my life – and friends and God. Not necessarily in that order. Faith is still a big part of my life – just not closed in, cloistered type of faith life.
I love to read – the whole time I was in the Monastery I read only a few fiction books. I love Fiction books and now I read lots of it! Especially Murder mysteries! I also like reading Children’s books – that part of me just never grew up! There must be a Peter Pan flying around in my soul somewhere.
Well, that’s enough rambling for now. Perhaps I will think of something better to say by and by – but this will do I guess.
Oh – I do love anything chocolate – especially chocolate chip cookies and chocolate ice-cream. A few days ago I made a batch of chocolate chip cookies – shared half with my sister and her family and ate all the rest myself! The last one just went down tonight . . . I think I better hold off making anymore for a while or I won’t fit through the door. But I will say they were delicious and well appreciated.

Stories of Faith
By Patricia Proctor
Published: July 9, 2012.
St Mary's Catholic Church in Albany, Oregon celebrated 125 years of faith by gathering a collection of faith stories from young and old. You will laugh, chuckle, be amused, amazed and inspired. Simple stories that touch the heart. "What a wonderful way to celebrate who we are! We are the stories we share, the faith we hold dear and the witness we give to the world around us." - Father Pat Walsh
