Stephanie Lerner
Biography
After many years of having the frustrating experience of not being able to find the bilingual educational or counseling tools needed, Stephanie Lerner decided to start creating them herself. Over the years, she was inspired while observing these tools helping young people and helping colleagues who borrowed them...then she was further inspired by her dad who is happiest when he is starting a new online project to provide others with what they can't find anywhere else.
After graduating from Johns Hopkins University with an MS in counseling, she set off to teach all over the world in both private and public education and with Peace Corps. It was during these years abroad that she developed many of her ESL lessons, curriculum, and activities. A few years later, she accepted a job as a bilingual counselor in a Texas public school system, where she currently works. It was in this capacity that she saw a great need for a Culture Explorers group and for Spanish language counseling materials. She currently lives in the community where she works with her husband and a menagerie of pets: all bilingual, of course.
