Still on the path to trophy wifedom, I relegated myself to reality. I scoop cattle crap on the weekends with my dad, and I herd teenagers down a middle school hallway during the week. Needless to say, I’ve spent the last 13 years of my life being a middle school teacher in Bellevue, Nebraska. Lucky for me, I live there with my fabulous fairytale husband who changed me from a cranky singleton to a smug married. Beyond that, I have a wonderful family that has soap opera twists and sagas I could write books about, but since I don’t want disowned, I stick to writing fiction.
Growing up, I spent my childhood torturing my mother, showing shorthorn cattle, reading, and running around my home town, Oakland. My teenage years were overrated and left me happy to find great friends when I attended the University of Northern Iowa at Cedar Falls. I got my English Education degree from UNI in ’96 and was in the real world in no time. Teaching has been good to me, as have the summers off! I’ve spent them writing, soaking up sun, doing DIY projects, watching TV, getting my masters, and bonding with my family that includes 14 nieces and nephews.
