The Bridge of Dead Things

I loved it! The story of Lizzie was extremely descriptive and the historical details are very well researched. I read most of the book in one night simply because I couldn't put it down and when I finally did it was five a.m. Wonderfully haunting and exciting it receives five stars from me and I fully intend to read more of Michael's books.

I loved this book. I read the first one over the weekend and the Scarab Heart today. It was great. I cried and laughed. Michael is my new favorite in historical mystery.

A delightful and beautifully written mystery, Gooseberry is a witty and lighthearted read with plenty of twists. A pick-pocket turned teenaged sleuth, Octavious is as good at crime solving as he is at relieving people of their valuables. I was hooked from the start and spent as much time trying to guess the outcome as I did laughing out loud. Not only is it an engrossing read, but it's also full of historical facts. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and can't wait to read another of Mr. Gallagher's mysteries. Forget Sherlock Holmes, send for Octavious Guy!
Big Bona Ogles, Boy!

A wonderful series! Michael Gallagher had done it again. I loved this book. I laughed out loud and nearly cried. The characters are well developed and the storyline is different and engaging. It's obviously well researched and Mr. Gallagher goes even further than providing a great story by placing links to sites where the historical information referenced can be found. All in all, I was truly entertained and couldn't wait to learn who did it. Just as soon as you think you have it right, he throws you for a loop. I highly recommend this whole series and intend to read the next one.
