"Food in God's House" by Randall Burgess, a review, March 13, 2013.
Randall Burgess has captured through the use of a character named Anna the daily struggle we all as Christian should experience. A struggle that starts with the question, is it going to be me or Jesus that sits on the throne today? Mr. Burgess uses the tool of fasting in the story as a means to deny one’s self comfort from food. Our real comfort and peace in life need to come from faith in Jesus Christ.
An insightful description of how to fast is woven throughout the book. If describes how the use of denying yourself food heightens the senses to enter into a closer dialog of Bible reading and prayer as you let God speak to you through His word.
Food in God’s house is a good thought provoking book that is worth the read.
