With my background in Education and my specialization in Special Education, I have worked with numerous children AND adults that have experienced academic frustration. I am here to tell you that our educational system really is not set up for truly effective learning. I say this because REAL learning takes place with connections that come to life with meaningful and active learning methods. Our children must have a curriculum that is focused on a variety of different learning styles. I combine tactile, auditory, and visual modalities to create a holistic approach that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Once I received my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Education with a concentration in Special Education, I was on fire and ready to go! I had so much to share with students and really looked forward to helping children overcome obstacles. One thing I promised myself was that I was going to challenge children and never hold them back. I was always going to present material that was a bit harder than expected and never underestimate their academic abilities. Using this mentality, my students surpassed the many educational goals that were set for them and they excelled to great heights! Children who were 5th graders but were functioning on a 2nd grade education level left my classroom on the 6th grade level after just one year!
