B.R. Nicholson has been writing and illustrating her stories since she was a child. The Shadows of Time series began one night when she was fifteen. Bored and with a bed stacked high with books, she decided to fill a notebook with what would become the first draft of Shadow Maiden.
B.R. Nicholson is currently a nursing student at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a few different places--I've moved 22 times so far. So that's about once a year on average (I'm 23). The most exciting place I've ever lived was Hawaii. I went there for college and lived there for about a year and a half. Moving around so much has influenced my writing by exposing me to a multitude of people to draw characters and stories from.
When did you first start writing?
I think I wrote my first story when I was seven or eight. It may or may not have had Jackie Chan in it... I remember writing it while watching Rush Hour for the first time haha. I've been drawing for even longer. My mom had me doodling as soon as I could hold a pencil.
Her elven eyes open. She finds herself in a world and time not her own. Outside, the metal city is in revolt. The only comfort she finds is in a stranger with a familiar face. But now is not the time for comfort. The stranger has tried to help her regain her memory. This may be the last chance they have before the world and worlds before fall to pieces. When time loosens its chains,Death will Reign.
