I have to admit, it’s the title that first caught my eye. ADVICE FROM DEAD STRIPPER. I decided to read a few pages to see if author Ellen Jayne could deliver after so provocative a start. I’m thrilled to report that Jayne far exceeded my expectations. She keeps the reader guessing all the way to the finish line. Is Susan really a ghost or some alter ego that Catherine has concocted to deal with her own trauma? Is Officer McGinn as honorable as he first seems? And what secret from Catherine’s past forced her to start a new life in a place so far from home? Jayne creates the kind of suspense that keeps her readers coming back for more. As an added bonus, Jayne’s writing is lyrical. I found myself lingering over her imagery, savoring it like poetry. ADVICE FROM A DEAD STRIPPER is a wonderful read. I look forward to other works by this author.
