Currently Lisa is the Thorsby Community Columnist for the Clanton Advertiser. At the request of her HOUSE ON BUTCHER HARBOR fans, a second book in the Butcher Harbor series is being written at this time. She has also written several poems under her maiden name: Lisa Lewis. Remembering You was published in 1984 by World of Poetry Press. Nightmares, a poem written in memory of James Dallas Egbert III, was also published by World of Poetry Press 1986. Ms. Moon has won several Golden and Silver Poet Awards.
When not writing, Lisa is an avid photographer and has shown her Waterfalls of Alabama collection January 2009 and April 2010. A table top book about Waterfalls and Cover Bridges of Alabama is under consideration. She was also the still photographer on a student film: The Realtor.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
My mother had pancreatic cancer, the kind that took Steve Jobs life, and she wasn't expected to pull through from that. I wanted her to actually hold my book in her hands and be able to see it at least or better yet read it before she died. As amazing as it seems my mother is still fighting the fight and we are happy to have her around for the next book to come out soon.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Flexibility. I like that Smashwords includes all types of e-book readers and even the PDF and rich text for people who don't own e-readers. The coupon code is also a huge sale point for me. I like to be able to give books to soldiers via project e-book for soldiers and to make my book free every now and then.
Book Two in the Michael And The Monster series. Michael gets in trouble for having a messy room. The monster gets in trouble for having a clean room. Then they finally meet each other. They have to figure out how to work this out so they both can stay out of trouble.
Micheal moves into a new house and discovers there is a monster in his room. His family does not believe him. Meanwhile the monster tries to get his family to understand that a boy has moved into his room. His family doesn't believe him either.
