I have really struggled with how to review this book because it so such a large collection of different stories. If you love YA, this book definitely has something for you here. I loved meeting all the characters! And I'm sure that it accomplished its purpose, lol, because now I want to read EVERY book that this anthology is based upon....... Thanks Ladies!!! There are really sweet stories all throughout this book. There is no way that I can go into details about every single one so, I am just going to highlight the ones that I were my favorites if that's ok. But like I said before, I truly want to read every single book that these shorts are based upon! So now for my favorites, I especially loved the first story, called "Surprise, Surprise", about Raleigh and Melody from the Zillie Wells Trilogy! Wow! Its just what every girl dreams of! I don't want to tell what happens because I don't want to ruin it. But if you think about about the most romantic thing you can think of that a guy could possibly do.... well, if you are anything like me, this would be it! Its so incredibly sweet! *tear* I loved it! The next one that I want to touch in is called "The Qualm Before the Storm'. I love this story because, the main character Treygan (LOVE his name by the way) is supposed to carry out some orders. These orders will be carried out against the will of the girl and he wants to fight for her right to choose the right path for herself. He fights against everything that he knows will happen if he doesn't do what he is supposed to, but he can't help thinking about how it is going to effect her. How drastically her life is going to be changed. I think he is a very admirable man for putting her before himself, even in spite of the consequences that effect him later. Hehe who wouldn't want to go into the water with Treygan anyway! Another one that I loved was "In the Beginning". Who doesn't love the thought of having a guardian, even if you didn't know they are there. Well what if that guardian was in love with you? What if all he can do is sit back and watch you and love you from afar. He can never touch you face, or hold you tight. But yet, he loves you still. He will do everything he can to protect you. That is what Seth is faced with in this story. He is in love with Genesis even though it is forbidden and he can only love her from afar without making himself known to her. I feel so bad for him, and find myself praying over and over that somehow, he will get to be with her in the end. Though at the end of this story it isn't looking so good... What will happen? I DON'T KNOW!! I gotta read the book too! And believe me its on my to do list! These are just a few of the great stories in this book! My only problem, was just that they left me wanting more. Which is what they were designed to do. But now, lol, I am in misery! Soooo, now I have a lot more books on my to read list! So let me just get this out of the way..... wow Wow WOW!!! I LOVED THIS BOOK! I couldn't put it down and read if all in about 24 hours. That ought to tell you something! So this book is about a girl, who goes with her family to meet her father returning from war. While they are waiting in the train station, her little brother gets loose from her hand in a split second and is gone without a trace. A brother who is only 4 years old. A son who his father has never even gotten to meet. A mothers child, who at the loss of him, shatters her heart and leaves her lost and wondering herself. This book isn't only about the loss of little Jimmy, but its how his family struggles with that loss, mainly his sister Katie. This is her life, growing up without him. Wondering where he is, or who he would be. Trying to make a place for herself in a world where his loss leaves a dark mist over everything. I really don't want to give too much away because it would totally ruin this for you. Please just trust me when I saw YOU WANT TO READ THIS! Seriously! Katie's life is hard, but she is strong and pushes ahead. She gives everything she can to make a life for herself. She tries so hard to live a life with some normalcy. Can you imagine being a young girl and loosing your brother? How would you cope with the wondering, the not knowing? How would you handle to reporters and the papers, even your friends asking questions? I expect that I wouldn't make it through life nearly as well as Katie. I don't know that I would have the strength to make myself push through school and accell academically. Not only does she make it through elementary and high school, she goes through college and even graduate school. Always searching for answers to unanswered questions, trying to find a way to understand it. Trying to figure out what would make a person do such a thing. Will she ever get the answers that she is looking for? Will be be able to open herself up to the prospects of being in a relationship, getting married and possibly even having a child of her own after living with the fear that the loss of her brother was her fault? Will her brothers kidnapper ever be brought to justice? Well, I guess you will just have to read and find out for yourself!
