I thoroughly enjoyed this collection of short stories and poetry. From tales of lost love and dark consequences to stories of wicked acts done in the name of God, Ms. Pierson's beautifully crafted sentences draw the reader into the characters' worlds. Not a word is wasted, and the author's description is vivid and visceral. The book ends with a collection of poetry, my favorite of which is "Cold Reality." It is impossible to remain unmoved by that one. The collection is short and easily read in one setting should one choose. I eagerly await future works by this author.
