Caroline Barnard-Smith

Biography

By day I run around after my three young daughters, by night I moonlight as a fantasy author.

Since graduating from university with a bachelor's degree in English Literature, I've worked as a website designer, a market trader, a radio presenter and as an assistant in a health food shop. Being a mum is the best job I've ever had but writing runs a close second.

My debut dark fantasy novel, Dunraven Road, was published in June 2009 - a mere twenty-one years after I first started writing aged five. It was a long apprenticeship.

Once, the vampire Dylan had feared nothing and no one. He'd rampaged throughout the world on a seemingly never ending quest to fill his eternal years with the finest, most outrageous extravagances; with exquisite, soft-limbed young women and copious amounts of rich, vibrating blood. But life, however full of joy, inevitably changes.
