Smashwords Interview

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I have loved writing ever since I could form words. At the same time it is very difficult for me. It is hard for me to sit down and write; one of the reasons I love NaNoWriMo so much is that it forces the participant to write to at least 50,000 words to win. I like to win so it is perfect. The challenge for me is to face my fears and write every day as if NaNoWriMo is an ongoing event.
Who are your favorite authors?
My favorite authors are Toni Morrison (Beloved is one of my favorite books), J.R. Ward, Karen Marie Moning (I want to run away with Adam Black), Diana Gabaldon, Kresley Cole, Tarryn Fisher, and Monica McCarty. Favorite authors from history include Mark Twain, Mary Shelley, and Elisabeth Ogilvie. I also enjoy Stephen King (Carrie was fantastic), Sylvia Day, Kat Martin, M Leighton, and Jennifer Crusie. I read a lot so it is hard for me to choose a comprehensive list without linking to a best author's page on Goodreads or the NYTimes.
