Smashwords Interview

What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I am retired now, after thirty years of teaching, and raising a family of three with my husband Paddy. I finally live in the country where we have a small farm with horses, goats, chickens a cat and three dogs. I get up early every morning to take care of them and when I finish that job I get to see the rising sun's rays, turn the mountains into brilliant vermillion. Another beautiful day has dawned! What can be more inspiring than that?
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I have a beautiful Morgan horse, Hanna, that I ride four days a week, on mountain trails, during the riding season which is from April to October. I walk the dogs every day. I garden, producing fresh fruit and vegetables. In the fall I make pesto from my own basil and walnuts. I can fruits such as apples and peaches. I dehydrate tomatoes. I prepare garlic and onions for cold storage. I plan to make yoghurt and cheese from the milk produced from my two pregnant goats. We have many family and friends that visit for getaway weekends. The only time of comparative relaxation is to be had in the cold season. That's when I actually find time to write and catch up on my reading

I liked this short story. It was credible and the plot was good. The twist at the end was excellent.
