Chris Williams lives in Oxford, England, with his wife and three young children.
He currently spends his time helping local families achieve their full potential at his Martial Arts Academy, preventing the children and chinchillas from wrecking the house, and writing...when time and energy allows.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the countryside, in a little village just south of Oxford, England. It was great for kids, as it had a playground, very little traffic, and lots of rolling fields to disappear into and have adventures in! When I was a teenager I enrolled in lots of character-building activities, such as Scouts and Air Cadets. This gave me a healthy respect for discipline and the chain of command, not to mention an excellent insight into the work and lives of our armed services.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing only a year ago, although I had been thinking about it for the past three years. Once I had the idea, I had a little bit of a manic episode, writing almost 130,000 words over three weeks (9pm to 3am every evening)! Then I spent nine months editing it, and the result is my first book, Sentry.
Much more than simple Science Fiction, Sentry invites you to journey headlong into conflicting emotions associated with war, inequality, inter-racial romance, and possession of the ultimate destructive power.
