After a typical Midwestern upbringing, I attended Michigan State University on academic scholarship to study finance. After college, I worked in the banking industry for several years in Georgia which led me to pursue my underlying dreams of educating youth as well as writing of the human experience in order to inspire, console and haunt the masses.
Then, I went back to school to earn my teaching credentials at Olivet College. Upon completion, I accepted a Language Arts position at Harbor Springs High School which sits on a stately bluff overlooking Little Traverse Bay and have spent the last decade-plus teaching, coaching and penning poetry and fictional tales.
I am happily married and a father to my son, Gray. As a family, we enjoy traveling every chance that arises. Our experiences as well as the grandeur of northern Michigan landscapes provide a broad, colorful canvas from which to dream and share stories.
Crafting poetry and short fiction is not just a past time but rather a medium for venting, exploring and rousing.
