Erin brews nightcaps to help men and women make the top-ten on Santa’s naughty list. She fills her books with cinnamon, steam, pepper and honey, distills them into silver cups, boils them in tongues of flame, and serves them bubbling to her readers. Ooh, it’s naked and delicious in the red kitchen of her mind, and aside from her lover’s embrace, there’s nowhere she’d rather be.
She lives with her family and neighbors in a quiet part of a loud city, and although she wants you to know what she does, she’d rather they didn’t. “Oh Honey,” Erin’s mother said, “don’t write stuff like that.” Later, Erin’s lover traced a finger around her waist, drew her close, and whispered a different idea. “Secrets are naughty,” he said. “Let this one brew up strong, and don’t pour it until someone asks.”

The King's Chamber

The strength of this work is the gentleness of the characters’ emotions outside the bedroom, and the fierceness of their desire inside it. The romance between the three main characters was both sweet and tender, and I felt it was portrayed in soft colors with a delicate touch. The tale was a rousing take on the Cinderella story, only with quite a sizzling twist.
