Charles Cannon III


Charles Cannon’s journey in the auto industry began very simply — just looking to pay the bills until a better opportunity came along! Working as a veterinary assistant for eight years, he realized to reach his goals it was time for a different direction. July 2002 Lawrence Marshall Pontiac/Buick/GMC became his starting point in the automotive industry. He quickly rose in ranks, within a few months, from floor sales to leading the internet department. Charles was hooked. He realized the exposure to engineering, technology, sales and marketing the industry offered coupled with his passion of helping and serving others was a match.

John Eagle Honda became his next stop. From 2003 to 2006, Charles again became a trusted advisor crafting valuable solutions for his clients. His results demonstrated a consistent track record of growth. His approach was to establish clear value in spite of “better deals,” transcending pricing. He learned the questions to ask to better understand his client’s needs and desires and use this information to help them find the right vehicle.

Charles wanted to move to the next level — join a luxury auto dealership. This door opened in March 2006 with Advantage BMW Midtown in downtown Houston, Texas. Within a year, he became the Pre-owned Client Advisor of the Year from 2007 to 2011. In 2009, he was recognized as one of the top client advisors in the country and nominated by BMW to be a part of the BMW Professional Council. The Council meets annually with BMW representatives exchanging ideas on how to improve all aspects of client interactions with its dealerships and all of BMW’s products.

Group 1 Automotive is the parent company of Advantage BMW Midtown. This relationship has given Charles the opportunity to help at other dealerships in the Group, David Taylor Cadillac and Southwest Lincoln, with their pre-owned departments. He has returned to Advantage BMW Midtown and now works in the new car internet department. Charles can now assist his clients with any make and model available within Group 1 Automotive. This gives Charles access to thousands of vehicles in the U.S. He can find the right vehicle for you!

Charles is goal oriented. His number one goal is to “…make my client’s auto purchase quick, easy and enjoyable!” He is about relationships that yield long term, repeat business. This approach goes beyond transaction based sales associated with many with car sales people. Charles has many testimonials from happy clients who will say that he truly wants to be your “friend in the car business.” He is available to answer any automotive related question you may have, whether its finance, vehicle warranties, or even wanting to know if you are getting a great deal on other vehicles.

When not serving his clients, he is hanging out with his wife, Simone, and their four children.
