Chris Jonsson

Chris Jonsson lives in the East End of London, where his debut novel Brick Alley is set.

He grew up in a remote part of Essex where there was once malaria, inbreeding, a nuclear power station and a church called The Peculiar People’s Chapel. This might have influenced his view of the world.
When he's excited or has eaten Lutfisk he will sometimes speak with a Swedish accent, or vomit.

Smashwords Interview

What's the story behind your latest book?
A general election is only days away, and in London's East End tensions are running high as an extreme right-wing party looks set to win a seat. DI Sam Kagan reluctantly investigates a series of horrific and bizarre beatings and killings that might just, against all odds, be connected to the various rampant political nutters and religious loonies in the area.

During the course of his inquiries he discovers some very disturbing facts about his past, has to fend off inept gangsters who want to kill him and try and stop throwing up all the time.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I've always been a dreamer, always had odd thoughts and ideas sleeting through my mind, and writing is the perfect way to channel them into something safe as otherwise I'd probably be arrested for riding a bicycle naked. Again.
