Claudia Conger - The Contrary Cowgirl

Biography

Born and raised in the west, Claudia Conger spent her early years listening to the vivid stories of her grandfather, a World War II Navy Veteran. He made his living as a welder but loved raising and racing his Thoroughbred horses. Claudia spent summers with her family fishing on the the Madison, Beaverhead and Big Hole Rivers in Montana. When not fishing she was cavorting all over Utah and Idaho showing her horses or skiing. She vividly remembers listening to the great stories spun by her grandparents, but it was their life that was the great story. They lived each day to its fullest and encouraged her to embrace all life had to offer.

Claudia has never looked back. Her love of skiing led her to a life on the road as a skiwear representative in the Pacific Northwest. A random meeting on the ski hill took her into the fast paced world of technology as a major account executive. She has taught skiing and riding, showed hunter-jumpers on the A Circuit, and rodeo'd all over the U.S. and Canada. One thing never changed, her love of the written word and her delightfully wicked sense of humor. "I have always been a student of life", she recalls. "I've been penning stories and poetry all of my life, some of which may even be true!"
