Counterpoint

Publisher info

Headquartered in London and working with an international network of associates, Counterpoint is a research and advisory group that focuses on the cultural dynamics of risk. Currently we are providing our publications free to share the insights of our authors into the codes and patterns which illuminate world cultures at the deepest levels. However, what you will read are non-technical, accessible essays, finely crafted by leading authors such as Charles Leadbeater, Eva Hoffman and Tzvetan Todorov.

Counterpoint offers robust, multidisciplinary analysis that leverages a textured and sophisticated understanding of cultural patterns. This approach empowers visionary organisations, governments and businesses by helping them interpret the deep dynamics that shape uncertainty and risk in different contexts.

Our world is characterised by uncertainty: the interdependence and interconnectedness that result from globalisation create both huge opportunities as well as substantial systemic risk. All of these make for constant and accelerated change–change we seek to understand and control but which often overtakes us.

At Counterpoint we know that change is constant and unpredictability endemic. We also know that some changes that are difficult to detect, may nevertheless cause the biggest upheavals. But we believe that we can detect and understand these complex and changing systems by focusing on the human and cultural landscapes that shape all risk. These are the deep cultural dynamics that underpin all political, economic and security developments.

We hope that you enjoy reading our publications and that they provide you with the intelligence to seek opportunities in risk and possibilitites in change.
