Barry Hayes

Biography

Barry Hayes was born in Illinois but grew up in the mountains and coalfields of beautiful Southwest Virginia. Shortly after graduating high school, Barry moved to Alabama where he studied English and History at Jacksonville State University. Barry took his love of roleplaying games with him and quickly formed a new gaming group.

After decades of running numerous roleplaying games; Barry teamed with Jeremy Hicks; and co-wrote a screenplay based on the fantasy game world Barry had created during his high school years. They meshed their ideas into one and called the shared endeavor Cycle of Ages Saga. Adapted from the screenplay, their first book; Cycle of Ages Saga: Finders Keepers; was published in July of 2013 by Dark Oak Press. The second book was published in September 2015

Barry has also co-written three more screenplays; the Cycle of Ages Saga sequel, Sands of Sorrow; a road trip comedy entitled Across the Border: South to Alaska and Night of the Living Rednecks, a dark comedy/horror tale about meth zombies plaguing a trailer park in Alabama. This screenplay placed as a Top Finalist in the 2011 Cherub Films Horror Screenplay Competition. Barry is currently finishing his Hillbillies of the Apocalypse anthology as well as developing a science fiction series.

Barry currently resides in the woods of Alabama with his three dogs. And yes, they will bite you.
