C.R. Mcbride

Biography

I love to write and I love to read. If I have any spare time between my jobs and my kids, there is nothing I like doing more than diving into a good book.

Romance is mainly what I read and my own stories reflect that. I like to create interesting stories that I think I would like to read myself.

I hope that readers enjoy my stories and there are many more to come.

  • The Art of My Life on Feb. 12, 2013
    (no rating)
I really enjoyed the first part Kicking Eternity where we first meet Cal and I loved him immediately. He is passionate and wears his heart on his sleeve; his heart definitely rules his head. The Art of My Life see`s Cal in a downward spiral trying desperately to grasp onto anything he can to try and turn his life around. Aly has turned it around; she has a successful job and is living a clean honest life at last. When Cal returns she doesn`t want him in her life, he humiliated her and broke her heart, so what if she always loved him, worshipped him even he was NOT in her future. If only she could convince her heart of that fact. This is a totally different paced story to Kicking Eternity, the relationship between Cal and Aly is very heated and I felt at home with the characters as I felt like I already knew them. The nearly but not quite scenes are very passionate as Cal struggles to remain in control of his emotions. Their story is heart wrenching as both have a dark past that cannot be ignored. I loved it the minute I started to read, it is a real and painful story that many can relate to but at the same time it is exciting and heart-warming. I had a real sense of loss when I finished reading.
  • Dancing In The Rain on Feb. 28, 2013

Dancing In The Rain is the most fantastic read, the first part is soul destroying watching Jane become trapped not just physically but psychologically in an abusive marriage. The author shows us how easy it is to manipulate someone and gives us an insight as to why so many men and women stay in these destructive relationships. Jane’s friend Toby recognises the signs and gives her the strength and wakeup call that she needs, he is the most rich and wonderful character and is her constant rock throughout. The story takes a dramatic turn and Jane finally realises that she has to go, escape her horrific past. Toby introduces Jane to his friend and oh how the sparks fly, but will Jane be able to let go of her past and allow him to enter her life and finally have the happiness she deserves. The friendship that Jane and Toby share is precious, they are linked together and she knows he will always be there for her I thought it beautifully written. It is a heartfelt romance that will make you cry with tears of sadness and tears of joy, a story of a young woman’s journey to find courage and take the fearful steps towards getting back control of her life. I loved it from start to finish.
