  • Mistaken Trust - (Book 1 of 6 in the Dark and Chilling Jewels Trust M.U.R.D.E.R Series) on May 31, 2015

I don't read a lot, but I couldn't put this book down. I couldn't wait to see what happened next. Very fast paced and full of twists and turns. Anxious for the next book in the series, Ultimate Trust.
  • Ultimate Trust - (Book 2 of 6 in the Dark and Chilling Jewels Trust M.U.R.D.E.R. Series) on July 09, 2015

I'm hooked on the series, at least that's my opinion after reading the first two books. The author provides another thrill-packed tale and doesn't disappoint with her main bad guy "Marty" and his homemade bombs, twisted plans, and his alter ego "Butch." I think this is the story the author mentions in her bio or interview that she consulted the fire chief about how to make explosions more realistic and SWAT about making bombs. I was impressed that she provided enough information that it was realistic for the reader, but not so much detail as to be irresponsible with knowledge that "someone" might use to build a real bomb in real life. The stories within the story of Ultimate Trust kept me turning the pages, and I'm not an avid reader. I usually have a pretty short attention span and sometimes it takes me weeks, literally, to finish a 130,000+ word novel like this one. But this one kept my interest and I finished in a matter of days, which is kind of a record for me. I'm anxious to see what kind of deviant Spain concocts for Jewels to battle next in Reluctant Trust.
  • Reluctant Trust - (Book 3 of 6 in the Dark and Chilling Jewels Trust M.U.R.D.E.R. Series) on July 26, 2015

Gee, talk about an intense, action-packed thriller!!! Spain continues to weave a tales of terror and triumph in her third book in the Jewels Trust Series. The demented acts of the author's villains are super creepy. I mean SUPER creepy. Literally made me cringe at times, but I couldn't wait to see what the wackos did next, so I HAD to keep reading! Besides the suspense and action in the plot, I enjoy how Spain brings realism to her characters by giving them flaws so the good guys are not always "good" and the bad guys have a hint of goodness about them, even if it is only a hint. I'm off to start book four, "Deadly Trust" and can't wait.
  • Deadly Trust (Book 4 of 6 in the Dark and Chilling Jewels Trust M.U.R.D.E.R.Series) on Aug. 09, 2015

I'm not a writer, so it's a challenge for me to come up with something I haven't already said, but WOW, ANOTHER ACTION-PACKED PAGE-TURNER!!! Spain continues to bring it on with intensity, originality, and nail-biting suspense. Jewels is one tough babe who has a knack for crossing paths with deviants, including those bent on revenge like "Tank." Off to start reading the fifth book, Endangered Trust. I can't imagine what else Spain has in store for her main characters, but I'm anxious to find out and doubt I'll be disappointed.
  • Endangered Trust (Book 5 of 6 in the Dark and Chilling Jewels Trust M.U.R.D.E.R. Series) on Aug. 27, 2015

Spain has created another page-turner with so much happening right from the start it's hard to put the book down. I have to admit, the author kept me guessing about exactly WHO the bad guy was harassing Jewels's husband and I think the "meat grinder murderer" might be Spain's most vile villain, yet. I honestly have to wonder how the author comes up with these bad guys, and I'm glad that she has because this is my kind of book! I'm anxious to read the final book in the series and can't imagine the mess Spain will throw Jewels into next.
  • The Thriller Book Killer (A Killer Among Us Thriller, Book 1) on Sep. 16, 2015

HANDS DOWN, SPAIN'S BEST BOOK YET!!! The suspense and chills of Spain's other more gritty R-rated novels, like Mistaken Trust and all of the Jewels Trust series--which I totally loved--has not been diluted in this thrilling PG-13 rated tale. The Thriller Book Killer is fast-paced and original and surprised me multiple times with twists and turns I did not expect. Though I highly recommend ALL of Spain's books, if you only read ONE of her books, choose to read this one!
  • Summer Sweat (A Killer Among Us Thriller, Book 2) on Aug. 22, 2016

SCREAMS FOR A SEQUEL. A bit shorter than Spain's other novels, but not short of nail-biting scenes, Spain scores another page-turning suspense story with "Summer Sweat." Like her novel, "Thriller Book Killer" and her entire Jewels Trust series, "Summer Sweat" kept me guessing about the identity of the savage killer until she wanted him revealed. Although in hindsight, she left crumbs of clues along the way. Spain sets this book up perfectly for a sequel to feature Summer's psychic twin brother, Rayne--pronounced like rain ... as in a summer rain :)--who has received "visions" of hands without arms coming out of a wall. CREEPY! Would love to find out the meaning of that clue. I'm eagerly awaiting to see what Spain publishes next.
  • Regretful Trust (Book 6 of 6 in Dark and Chilling Jewels Trust M.U.R.D.E.R. Series) on Aug. 22, 2016

HOLD ON FOR THE RIDE OF YOUR LIFE ... or at least Jewels'! Spain out did herself in this last book in the series, which I think is my absolute favorite of the six books. If I could give it 10 stars, I would! I have watched (actually read) Spain grow in her storytelling abilities with each book she publishes. "Regretful Trust" is the pinnacle of her achievements thus far with more jaw-dropping surprises and cringe-worthy scenes that have become a "trademark" of Spain's Jewels Trust series. Although "Regretful Trust" is a BIG book, nearly 160,000 words, I never got bored and was never tempted to skim paragraphs or skip chapters. The downside, I hated to see the series end. I wonder if Spain will write a spin off with Clark and Ginny?! (That was a hint, Ms. Spain if you read this.)
